I spend a lot of time in deep reflection in the Star War Yoda Best Aunt 2021 Vintage shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this days leading up to the start of the new year, thinking about all that transpired, all the joys and heartbreaks, and everything I moved through and embraced in the soon-to-close year. There are a slew of questions I like to ask myself to help me parse through everything, like, “What words or identities did I claim for myself this year? What losses did I experience this year that still need to be grieved? What was my relationship to my body like this year? How was the sex I had this year? What am I proud of?” It’s become a tradition for me to ask questions like these near the end of the year and write the answers down in my journal by candlelight with some chill music playing in the background. This usually takes place over a few nights. I really enjoy sitting down and reflecting intentionally in this way.

I’ve been doing this personal review and release ritual each New Year’s Eve for years, and I enjoy doing it so much that I made a digital workbook called 2020: Review Reflect Release based off of the Star War Yoda Best Aunt 2021 Vintage shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this same prompts I ask myself and the same releasing ritual I do so that others can engage with this powerful work as well. Creating this workbook each year and giving people tools, prompts, and resources to intentionally close out their own year with ritual and intention has become a tradition all its own. After working through prompts that help me review and reflect on the many areas of my life—my work, my relationships, my body, my creativity—that got shifted in the old year, I also do a releasing ritual where I write down all of the limiting beliefs, old wounds, negative energy, and toxic mindsets that I don’t want to bring with me into the new year and I burn them.
